RISE Rice at Wat Lamphu

Disaster Aid Thailand, in collaboration with Disaster Aid Australia, has extended its relief efforts by distributing RISE (Rice Agent Hunger) rice to flood-affected communities. One significant distribution took place at Wat Lamphu in Narathiwat, an area heavily impacted by recent flooding.

Flooding Impact in Narathiwat

Narathiwat has experienced severe flooding, the worst in decades, resulting in widespread damage. Over 16,000 families across 11 districts have been affected, with many homes and infrastructure severely damaged. This disaster has disrupted daily life and made it challenging for residents to access essential resources, including food and clean water.

Relief Efforts at Wat Lamphu

In response to the urgent need for food supplies, Disaster Aid Thailand distributed a significant portion of the 12.5 tons of RISE rice at Wat Lamphu. This distribution aimed to provide immediate relief to the flood victims by ensuring they have access to basic nutrition during this crisis. The RISE rice distribution is a crucial part of our broader strategy to support affected communities by addressing their immediate needs and helping them recover from the disaster.

Coordination and Support

The distribution at Wat Lamphu was carried out with the cooperation of local authorities and community leaders to ensure that the aid reached those most in need efficiently. Our teams worked diligently to coordinate the logistics of the distribution, ensuring that the rice was delivered promptly and effectively to the affected residents.

This initiative is part of Disaster Aid Thailand’s ongoing commitment to provide timely and effective humanitarian assistance to those in need. For more information and updates on our relief efforts, please visit our website.
